Detroit Reparations Task Force Town Hall at Alkebulan Village | Piper Carter Podcast

We believe in the power of solidarity and recognize the pivotal and significant role grassroots organizations play in not just telling our story, but telling our story accurately. This invitation is an opportunity for us to come together, center our community voice, and collaboratively shape our path forward.

The bus tour serves a dual purpose: to educate our university partners and to strengthen our collective strategy. As we traverse the streets of Detroit, engaging in dialogue and sharing our experiences, we aim to inform the forthcoming impact report. This report will be instrumental in shaping policy recommendations that will be presented to the Detroit City Council and the United Nations as part of the Black Audit Project.

Each day will conclude with a town hall session, providing a forum for robust discussion and community input. We are pleased to announce that Alkebu-lan Village will generously cater each town hall and DHT Transportation will ensure a comfortable and reliable journey for all participants. We invite you to share the town hall flyer among your networks. While some community residents will be invited to join the bus tour, seats are limited and so we invite you to recommend only those who have been instrumental in their neighborhoods, the work of your organization, or whom have historical knowledge.

Your presence and insights are invaluable to this endeavor. Let us seize this opportunity to deepen our bonds and amplify our voices in the pursuit of justice.
