World Massive Mix

words and mix by Dominic Painter

This week we bring you a special edition of World Massive which celebrates my birthday. The show starts with LA-based producer, Gingee. An accomplished percussionist in addition to DJing and producing, Gingee adds her Filipino heritage to the global bass soundscapes she creates, making her a unique voice in a genre dominated by Latin and Caribbean sounds. This mix puts on full display her passion for Asian, Middle Eastern, and more overlooked sounds and packages them in a way accessible to a broader audience.

The second hour is a party set by up-and-coming Mexican producer/DJ, Seul Hoski. Known for his moombahton and G house releases on notable labels (Fight Free, La Clinica), he uses this set to show off his ability to blend more mainstream world pop without losing his trademark heavier energy. Expect a lot of reggaeton, afro beats, future dancehall, and moombahton on this one.
