UTOPIA TRIBE BROUGHT IN THE NEW YEAR WITH HOUSE AND LOVE

On this New Years Eve / New Years Day edition we have a take over by one of LA's preeminent house music parties, Utopia. Co-founders and resident DJ's, KG Supterstar and Ade, began doing free weekly events in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Southern LA in the Spring of 2021. In a time when venues were still shut down, this free open air house music jam became a haven for those who were feeling isolated and going through dance withdraw. By Summer time, the crowds had grown, not only because the talent had become more high profile (Tony Touch, Deon Cole) but also because of the message: One Tribe, One Love. A diverse range of race and ages gathered for spiritual upliftment, local venders of fresh juice, healthy food and afrocentric clothing sold wares around the perimeter as dance circles popped off in the center of the crowd. 

The event capped off the season with a 3 day Labor Day weekend event that was loaded with 12 hrs of DJs per day (including me) and has since moved to the rooftop of Mama Shelter in Hollywood. The spirit has not changed, only the venue as KG drops sermon worthy affirmations on the mic as the best DJs in LA hypnotize through the grooves of new and classic house music.

World Massive capped off it's inaugural year with back to back sets by KG and Ade the night of 12/31 (or is it the morning of 1/1?) and we are bringing an extended edition to you on Mixcloud. Clear your rug so you can dance and turn up the love.
