Event Description:

The duo of Sunken Cages and dragonchild are creating new and exciting global music that draws from their respective cultural backgrounds. Sunken Cages is the moniker of Indian-born drummer/electronic music producer Ravish Momin, who has worked with a wide array of musicians from Shakira to legendary Jazz musician Kalaparusha (Chicago AACM) to Depeche Mode. dragonchild is a solo project conceived by Ethio-American saxophonist D.A.

Mekonnen, co-founder of the widely celebrated Debo Band. For this appearance, Faraway Ghost (Kamyar Arsani) will join them. Arsani is a DC-based Iranian poet, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose artistic practice spans multiple genres. As a trio, they will present their own brand of digital folk music that draws on Sufi mysticism, traditional Persian Music, Ethiopian melodies and contemporary electronic dance music all at once.
