Event Description
Join us for The Combine preliminaries, part one of an electrifying event to kick off National Poetry Month 2024. Compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes as you showcase your literary and performance talents in a variety of challenges, from hip-hop trivia to haiku recitations. All ages welcome to attend, competitions are grouped by age; all-ages, youth and adult.
Competitions
COMPLIMENT BATTLE
TEST YOUR ORIGINALITY - The goal is to bring your opponent UP, not down - Competitors will be given their opponent's name in advance.

TEST YOUR MEMORIZATION - That’s Other People’s Poetry - Recite your fave poems, speeches, raps from Poe to MLK to Nas

TRIVIA CHALLENGE
TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE - Once You Sign In, questions will be sent to your phone - Show off that big brain of yours!

HOSTING CHALLENGE
TEST YOUR WIT - 5 People will be selected to host each one of the events below - How would YOU handle certain situations as a host? This competition runs all-day during each poetry category.
